Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. A bit later than the originally planned release date of Dec 12th, here is a simple little Christmas arrangement I made around this beautiful song. It's fascinating how this one always finds itself on Christmas albums, even though it's not a carol or even Christmas-themed – but this trend only started recently. In 2008, UK X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and Jeff Buckley both had chart topping covers before Christmas, and this decade saw extremely popular Christmas releases by Susan Boyle, Lindsey Stirling and Pentatonix! However, it's also interesting to see that the original by Cohen was also released in December, also shortly before Christmas. It's very possible we're seeing a new Christmas carol appearing right before our eyes!!
